AAT Diploma in Accounting (Level 3)

The purpose of the AAT Diploma in Accounting is to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required for progressing either to employment in an accounting or finance role or to enable progression to further study in accountancy and finance.

Who is it for?

This qualification is a progression route for students who have achieved either the AAT Certificate in Accounting (Level 2). It is also suitable for those who are at an intermediate level and are looking to develop their skills in accounting, or for those who have already started working in finance and who have a desire to attain formal recognition of their skills.

What is covered?

In completing the AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3 qualification you will master more complex accounting disciplines including financial processes, Advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants.

Note: The synoptic assessment or final exam will require you to apply knowledge and skills gained across the qualification and within a workplace context.

For those who have completed the AAT Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 3), you are only required to complete two modules, rather than four.

What will I need to study?

Completed the AAT Certificate in Accounting (Level 2) or equivalent; or have sound experience working in the finance sector.  Exemptions are available if you have studied the AAT Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 3).  Exemptions may be available if you have achieved relevant A levels.

Progression

Once this stage is completed, you can continue to the AAT Diploma in Professional Accounting (Level 4) or ACCA Applied Knowledge.

Course Fee

£2,400

Fees include your teaching, books for all modules, one exam entry for each module and AAT registration fees.  You are able to purchase exam re-sits.  If you are eligible for exemptions, the course fee is reduced.
