The Professional Diploma in Accounting can lead to the achievement of professional AAT (MAAT) status. The accountancy skills developed by studying this qualification will enable you to progress to study chartered accountancy (ACCA) please provide link. This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) professional level apprenticeship is a higher-level accounting qualification. If you successfully complete this qualification and fulfill the AAT’s work experience requirements, you can apply for AAT full membership and achieve professional AAT (MAAT) status.This flexible apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education and combines online learning with regular sessions with a college tutor.
Applicants will need to be employed in a relevant accounting role.You must have a sound knowledge of accounting principles to undertake the AAT Level 4 programme. Achievement of an AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting is essential.

These core units of study are assessed at unit level. In addition, a synoptic assessment will ask learners to apply knowledge and skills gained across the qualification in an integrated way, within a workplace context. You will also study two optional units – your college will discuss this with you.
You will also develop business communications and lifelong learning skills, applying what you learn on the course to the wider industry context.
Classroom attendance is weekly for your 3-hour lessons for your mandatory modules (3) and up to 6 hours for your optional modules (2).
Pre-lesson study: For the mandatory modules, you will study award-winning video lessons, which are available on demand, and can be viewed from your phone, tablet or computer – meaning you can choose how, when and where you want to study.
Lessons last for around 45 minutes and are accompanied by animations and motion graphics to bring concepts to life. Practice questions, downloadable lesson materials and interactive case studies help to enhance the learning experience further and learners should expect to spend around 3-4 hours studying independently online each week. For the optional modules, materials are provided by the tutors for your pre-lesson reading and home work. *In addion, you will be expected to complete tasks in the workplace to support your skill development and to act as evidence for your portfolio.
On Campus: You benefit from weekly 3-hour classes with a college tutor (for optional modules, the weekly hours may increase or decrease). Your tutor will review what you have learnt during your online lessons and will be on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Regular discussion with classmates will help to reinforce key points while also providing the additional support and motivation that comes from being part of a group. *In addition, you will have portfolio building support sessions (approximately 2 hours every 4-6 weeks).
After completing their On Programme Learning, apprentices will be expected to complete their End Point Assessment (EPA), consisting of:An online assessment, where you’ll tackle a series of business-related tasks through simulation in line with typical role activities; a submission of a portfolio of evidence gathered from the workplace. You must then reflect on the portfolio through a written statement or professional discussion.
This course is free to apprentices, as the cost is paid by your employer. Large companies can fund the course using their apprenticeship levy. SMEs can access government funding to subsidise the cost by 95%.
