AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (Top-Up)

Where can this course lead to?

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting or level 4 apprenticeship. The skills and knowledge you will gain throughout this qualification will qualify you for roles including Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant and Bookkeeper.

You will also be eligible for AAT Bookkeeper (AATQB) status, giving you the option to work as a freelance bookkeeper.


Who is it for?

This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) advanced level course is a mid-level accounting qualification, ideal for anyone who is looking to advance their existing knowledge of accounting.

This course is often fully funded or partially funded for eligible learners, so the cost to you is reduced or free.

Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of studying this course, or we can invoice employers if they will be funding your qualification. Please ask a member of staff for more information.


What will I need?

You must have completed the AAT Certificate in Accounting (Level 2) or equivalent or have sound experience in finance.

Learners must be aged 19 or over.


What will I study?

This qualification covers a range of complex accounting tasks. You will learn and master financial processes, including accounting principles and concepts, preparing financial concepts, management accounting, tax processes and business awareness.

On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded an AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. This internationally recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification enables those working in accounting or those looking to pursue accountancy as a career to gain knowledge, practical experience and the all-important certification often sought by employers.

You will study:

  • Financial accounting: preparing financial statements
  • Management accounting techniques
  • Tax processes for businesses
  • Business awareness

 

On Campus: You benefit from weekly 3-hour classes with a specialist tutor. Your tutor will review what you have learnt during your online lessons and will be on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Regular discussion with classmates will help to reinforce key points while also providing the additional support and motivation that comes from being part of a group.

This course is assessed through a total of four computer-based exams, one taken at the end of each unit.

Fees include your teaching, related teaching materials and one exam entry for each module. You are required to pay for your AAT membership. You are able to purchase exam resits and books at a discounted rate. You may be eligible for partial or full funding.

This Level 3 course is part of the Free Courses for Jobs initiative and is fully funded for eligible learners. Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of studying this course. Please ask a member of college staff for more information.
