AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping

Where can this course lead to?

The skills and knowledge you will gain throughout this qualification will qualify you for roles including Clerical Assistant, Trainee Bookkeeper, Accounts Clerk, Finance Assistant and Accounts Administrator.

Students completing this Level 2 AAT Certificate in Bookkeeping may wish to go on and complete the full Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting (2 modules) to allow them to progress onto Level 3 Accounting or Level 3 Bookkeeping. Please note that a Level 2 accounting qualification is required to move onto the Level 3 Accounting.


Who is it for?

This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) course is an entry-level accounting qualification, ideal for anyone who is seeking an introduction to bookkeeping principles and skills.This course is often fully funded or partially funded for eligible learners, so the cost to you is reduced or free. Alternatively, we can invoice employers if they will be funding your qualification.


What will I need?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Previous knowledge of accounting or a Level 1 Bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous but not essential. You do require a good grasp of English (working at level 1).

Learners must be aged 19 and over.


What will I study?

This short course, studied over four months, will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to manage books effectively – including double entry bookkeeping, and associated documents and processes, up to Trial Balance standard.On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded an AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping.

This internationally recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification enables those working in accounting or those looking to pursue accountancy as a career to gain knowledge, practical experience and the all-important certification often sought by employers. 

You will study:  

  • Introduction to bookkeeping
  • Principles of bookkeeping

 

On campus, you benefit from regular classes with a specialist tutor – without having to commit to attending multiple evenings each week. Your tutor will review what you have learnt during your online lessons and will be on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Regular discussion with classmates will help to reinforce key points while also providing the additional support and motivation that comes from being part of a group.

This course is assessed through a total of two computer-based exams, one taken at the end of each unit.
